Observed this month, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a diverse workforce inclusive of their skills and talents. NDEAM dates back to 1945, when Congress declared the first week in October “National Employ the Physically Handicapped Week." The Disability and Employment Community of Practice includes several resources including a recently released final report
from the Advisory Committee on Increasing Competitive Integrated Employment and a Section 188 Disability Reference Guide

Technical assistance (TA) to support the implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Final Rules continues with WIOA Wednesdays. Taking place on Wednesday afternoons throughout the coming months, the Innovation and Opportunity Network (ION) will be offering TA to the public workforce and education system on various subjects regarding WIOA Final Rule implementation via webinars.
