Happy February

This is some text!

Career and Technical Education Month

February is Career and Technical Education Month, or CTE Month.  In recent years, CTE has become a more prestigious and valued form of education because it directly prepares students for high-wage, high-demand careers.  CTE covers many different fields, including health care, information technology, advanced manufacturing, hospitality and management and many more.  CTE encompasses many different types of education, from classroom learning to certification programs to work-based learning opportunities outside the classroom.

As workforce professionals, you are a critical link between the employer community that is looking for skilled workers and the individuals looking for work.  WorkforceGPS has pulled together a number of resources that highlight the importance CTE, specifically licensing and credentials, and its growing importance in our nation’s future education system.

100th Anniversary of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program, which was the first federally funded program to assist people with disabilities who had not acquired their disabilities as a result of serving in the military.  The Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) will be celebrating 100 Years of VR throughout 2020.  To that end, they have launched a dedicated webpage to house anniversary content.  We encourage you to view and bookmark the VR 100 webpage, which will include information about this program throughout 2020.
