Access and Opportunities

Happy New Year! With the arrival of 2022, our work continues to evolve; we continue to find ways to break down service barriers while simultaneously providing pathways to means.  Acknowledging these efforts of the system, the WorkforceGPS overarching theme for 2022 is “Access and Opportunities.”

For this first month of 2022, we focus on literacy and the importance of providing our customers with assistance and services so they can successfully apply and obtain a job, and ultimately a career. With so many jobs now switching to more technology-based platforms, digital literacy is becoming increasingly important in many fields of work. Customers need basic digital skills training in addition to traditional training to become and remain viable in today's economy. This impacts the services of the publicly-funded workforce system. We must transform how we provide services to our customers--both jobseekers and employers. It's an ever-changing world and WorkforceGPS has been on the forefront these past several years in providing technical assistance and resources through our webinars and other types of content, giving you easy access to the information you need to help your customers. You can rest assured that we will continue to evolve within our changing environment along with you as we look forward to the coming year.

State Monitoring & Oversight Materials

Monitoring Thumbnail-newsletterThe Employment and Training Administration's (ETA) National Oversight and Monitoring Training Series for State Agencies has launched a National Oversight and Monitoring Training Series for State Agencies. The training series was developed as a direct result of feedback from states across the country about the need for training on monitoring and oversight. Originally, ETA planned in-person delivery of this training however, given the Pandemic, we transitioned to a series of virtual sessions. The series is designed as a combination of pre-recorded, live sessions, and Podcasts. Each session highlights a different key element of grants oversight and monitoring.
