Welcome to the YouthBuild Webinar Series: High School Equivalency Instruction in Action: ELA and Math Lessons that Support Student Success

YouthBuild instructors are working to help YouthBuild learners reach higher standards on GED, HiSET, TASC, and high school diploma assessments across the country. New tests more closely aligned with Common Core State Standards require educators to incorporate a range of instructional shifts into their classrooms.

Description

Last year, two leading classroom teachers from YouthBuild programs described the instructional shifts they made in Math and English Language Arts (ELA) respectively. This webinar will review these two webcasts and the specific ways these instructional leaders adjusted their classroom practice in order to help learners reach higher and achieve stronger outcomes.

During the live webinar event on June 14th, a review of the webcasts will be followed by a collaborative conversation with YouthBuild USA staff, local program staff, educators and Department of Labor staff to discuss lessons learned and implications for these instructional shifts.
