Grantees developing apprenticeship programs under the H-1B Scaling Apprenticeship and H-1B Closing the Skills Gap grants have several apprenticeship models to consider, including use of the Department of Labor’s Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAPs) and its Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Program (IRAPs).  Grantees will learn the benefits of each model and options to consider going forward.  



Now that the U.S. Department of Labor’s IRAP regulations have been rolled out, grantees that are currently using unregistered apprenticeship models may wish to pursue recognition for the programs as IRAPs, or registration for their programs as RAPs.  Attendees will gain knowledge of both models, including the benefits of each, from the Department’s Office of Apprenticeship, and hear from current grantees why they chose the options they did.  We will allow time for your questions as well.
