Veterans and covered persons are entitled to Priority of Service (POS) in the public workforce system.  Front-line American Job Center (AJC) staff, as well as state and local workforce agency staff, ETA, and Veteran Employment and Training Service (VETS) staff must all understand their roles, the requirements, and effective practices to ensure POS is appropriately implemented.

These two self-paced, online training modules are designed to provide the basics that practitioners need to ensure POS, including scenario-based practical exercises for training reinforcement.  (Acknowledgement of training completion is included.)

Two separate training modules have been developed—Module 1, was developed for front-line staff; Module 2, for state and local workforce system leadership.

Module 1
: Veterans Priority of Service Computer-Based Training Module for American Job Centers (AJC) to train front-line staff, including veterans’ representatives and others, AJC operators and discretionary grantee/subgrantee front-line staff.

Module 2
: Veterans Priority of Service Computer-Based Training Module for American Job Centers (AJC) to train state and local workforce system leadership, including State and Local Workforce Investment Boards, State Workforce Agency staff and discretionary grantee project managers.

This product was developed prior to WIOA; however, many of the concepts and ideas are still valid within the WIOA platform.
