The Literacy Information and Communication Center (LINCS) community of practice (COP) offers adult education practitioners a professional learning space by providing high-quality, evidence-based learning opportunities to adult students.

The LINCS COP is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE).  Within the COP, practitioners can seek help from experts and peers, collaborate, network, share knowledge and resources, participate in special events, and grow professionally.

To join, users create a free and secure personal account to begin sharing and gaining knowledge and resources in our discussion groups. There are 11 groups focused on topics important to the field, and each group is led by a moderator who facilitates discussion and serves as a content expert.

Special topic discussion groups include:

  • Career Pathways
  • Correctional and Reentry Education
  • Disabilities and Equitable Outcomes
  • English Language Acquisition
  • Integrating Technology
  • Math and Numeracy
  • Program Management
  • Professional Development
  • Reading and Writing
  • Science
  • Teaching and Learning

The LINCS Community works in tandem with other LINCS professional development opportunities, such as the Resource CollectionLearning Portal, and the LINCS Professional Development Center to advance the field of adult education by expanding evidence-based practice.
